Weston Pier To Open For Angling
For the first time in 43 years angling is being allow from the town pier at Weston. Initialy it will be for a trial period of just 4 days between the 17th and 20th of March but if there appears to be a demand then it may become a ongoing thing.
Day tickets will cost £5.00 for 2 rods but we suspect that because of the tide the pier will only be fishable for 2.5 hours either side of high tide. With the recent losses of Knightstone island and Birnbeck Pier to anglers the town pier could prove to be a popular venue for youngsters and those who just like an easy venue to fish.
If you do give it a go a drop net may be a good idea as the access to deeper water could see anglers catching rays, conger and codling from the pier.
