Autumn Is Coming And So Are The Codling!!

The codling has always been the number number target for lots of Bristol Channel anglers but in the main the last few winters have been very poor. This season however has got off to a promising start and although it is still only early September there have been reports of codling all through the Channel from Minehead right up to the Severn Bridges. Most of these fish are the normal, or what once was normal, run of 1lb to 3lb codling but a few better fish have also been reported.

If you want to get in on the action now is the time to start checking over your gear, refurbusing your rod, loading new line on your reel and tying up some new traces. Don't forget to check out our on-line store for all the bits you need and keep an eye on the catch reports section for pointers for where to have a go.

If you have not fished the Channel before the Local fishing section gives you an idea on some marks to try with directions and hints on the best tides etc.

We are also hearing of codling coming out from the East Anglian beaches and Chesil so if you want some action now is the time to get out and enjoy a good bit of Autumn Sport.
