The 2pce Saltiga Boat is probably the nicest boat rod Daiwa have ever made! The basis of the rod is the 2 equal section X45 HVF carbon blank which is light but powerful and has a beautiful fast action which progressively increases in power the harder you pull against the fish. HVF is a carbon with less resin making it lighter, slimmer and faster actioned. The X45 process uses bilateral 45 carbon fibre combined with 0 and 90 carbon to give a rod construction which is strong and highly resistant to deforming. The two sections are joined by a V-Joint spigot which gives a secure join and gives the rod the same feel as a one piece model. The result is a rod which is light, powerful and sensitive and has a brilliant feel when you are playing a fish. The sensitive tip gives you amazing bite detection when either drifting or bottom fishing.

The rod is built in Daiwa's Scottish factory and finish is excellent with Fuji Alconite K guides which are suitable for braid or nylon lines. The Fuji DPS screw winch has an additional locking ring to hold the reel securely during prolonged use. The reel seat is sandwiched between slim comfortable EVA grips with the fore grip shaped to give a secure hold. The Fuji GRC butt cap is slotted to allow the use of a gimbal butt pad if desired.

The 12 -20lb model is a superb wreck drifting rod which is also suitable for general bottom fishing for cod, hounds, rays and the like.
