The Ilba Mariner Spinner is a traditional spinner which is one of the earliest styles of lures invented. The fact that they are still available, and still catching is proof that this simple, but effective, style of lure is worth a place in the lure anglers tackle box. They are mainly perceived as a freshwater lure but saltwater fish will still hit them with the same enthusiasm.
As you may tell from the name the Mariner has been designed by Ilba for saltwater use and the polished nickel blade and plated treble are constructed to resist the demands of sea fishing. The weighted body allows good casting and the blade gives out strong vibrations, even with a slow retrieve. This fools the fish into thinking that the lure is an easy meal and induces them to strike.
Use to target, bass, pollack, mackerel and even the odd passing sea trout.
