Bookies Rig’s Beefed Up Loop Rig

The Bookies Rig’s Beefed Up Loop Rig is hand tied by Dean and is his go to rig for targeting mixed species. The loop rig is an effective way of presenting two baits at range. The rig allows both baits to be clipped behind the lead to give a streamlined long casting rig. The rig then fishes as a 1 up 1 down giving two different bait presentations to maximise your opportunities and also give the chance of a double hook up.

The ‘beefed up’ version allows you to target smaller species such as whiting, doggies and rockling but with the strength to handle rays, hounds and conger as well.

You can use a variety of baits with fish, squid, crab and worm all working well. A handy tip is to use a slightly smaller bait on the top hook as this gives better balance and helps to improve casting performance.

Bookies Rig’s Beefed Up Loop Rig are tied from premium components and the 100lb rig body allows safe powerful casting, even with 8oz sinkers. The 2 x 3/0 Varivas BMX are tied to tough 60lb snoods and feature a sliding bait stop. This is handy with worm baits and is supplied ‘loose’ so you can lightly crimp it in place to suit your desired bait size.

The rig is finished with high quality crane swivels and Breakaway cascade. The rig is available with either a Breakaway Imp or Gemini Solo bait clip.
