The Shimano Speedmaster 8 II is a compact high performance reel which is capable of coping with a wide range of fishing situations. It is a good reel for general bottom fishing, jigging, light line shark fishing and sporting overseas fishing
The two main features of the Shimano Speedmaster 8 II are the super smooth 8kg (18lb) lever drag system and the twin speed retrieve. This allows you to manually swap between the high speed 6.2:1 gear ratio and the high torque 4.1:1 gear ratio. The gear adjuster is fitted on the handle and allows you to instantly swap ratios with just the flick of a switch.
The drag system allows you to quickly alter the pressure.
The Hagane body design keeps everything solidly in line ensuring ultra-smooth performance of the spool, gearing and drag.
