Since Dean Booker has been appearing on the Veals Mail Order Youtube channel, his videos have proved incredibly popular, with many anglers keen to know how he goes about his fishing.

What took us by surprise though was the volume of messages and emails we received asking about the rigs that he uses.

Rigs are a very personal choice, and although the general theme of many is similar, it’s the subtle adjustments that can make all the difference. For example, the pulley rig is probably the most commonly used rig in the country, but even this simple design has been jigged, modified and adapted to suit individual preference. For those of you who have shown an interest in the rigs that Dean uses himself, you are now going to have the opportunity to use those exact same rigs, tied by the man himself!

Dean won’t mind us saying that he suffers from OCD, which basically means that he is a perfectionist when it comes to fishing and unless he is 100% satisfied with a rig, it will be rejected.

At present there are 8 variations, but the range will be added to in due course. Naturally, each rig is constructed of the best quality components from Varivas, Seadra, Gemini and Breakaway. These are EXACTLY the same as you’ve seen Dean using, and if you’ve seen him cast a rig, you’ll know just how much strain they are put under.
